    Default Filling sandbags/car support

I have a sandbag - which fits over a car door - as a support for my Wimberley
now the question is - what to fill the sandbag with...
Sand (since it is a sandbag) ?
traveling to the Kgalagadi - I will take it empty and borrow some from the park - or do you have any better ideas?

I use plastic beads in mine. Works the best and lightest to carry around. Rice, beans etc will really drive you nuts after a while, they start to ferment, mould, etc...and breed larvae sometimes....

I think sand is the steadiest. But it's also the heaviest.

And it can be dusty, so I prefer to use river sand that I have washed, or to put a plastic bag inside the sandbag.

They are about 3 x 3mm in size. I got it from a company doing plastic ejection molding about 5 year ago. They were on the campus of the CSIR then but I don't know if the company is still their.
