    Default Premium Brands fined by Competition Commission

    So the official SA Nikon importer was fined R 300,500.00 for collusive pricing practices.

    Sorry, but I saw this thread only now. You should know by now that price collusion is rife throughout all spheres of industry.
    Canon is the same,if you compare retail prices for all Canonstuff--cameras and lenses.The price differences between some of the bigger retailers(FotoHifi, Orms,Takealot,evenCameratek and others are very small as a percentage of the actual retail price...
    The only way to combat this is to brazenly "demand discount" (what about the difference between card and cash payment or EFT ????).
    and look/ ask around and around and around......ad nauseum or buy while overseas (only in certain countries)...
