    Default Fashion Show

    Hello,

My boss has asked me if I am willing to shoot a fashion show his wife is putting on. It will be an hour or two, and she wants the photo's to put on a website & social media sites, and no mention of prints!

They are willing to pay for time etc., but my question is what to charge?. Obviously it will be my time shooting, and some PP as well!

I do not have an external flash, or really the lenses, as my primary shooting is outdoors, not fashion. The fastest lens in my kit is an old MF F2.8 50mm, which I've used once when testing it.

    Should I even do this?

    Any advice etc. welcome.

EDIT: Ok, I've arranged a flash, so have that at least, if necessary.

My first reaction: don't do it.

However, bad choices often make for great stories!

Also: there was a first time for everything for all of us and we all had to learn one way or the other.

Your choice whether you want to push your limits and grow and learn from the experience.

If you do decide to take it on, maybe consider renting (ODP offer a huge range of pro rental equimpent) or borrowing a fast lens like maybe a 24-70 f2.8 or 70-200 f2.8

Let us know what you decide snd what happened!

Well, I gave them my price, and have arranged to borrow a flash. No reply as yet, so maybe it wasn't meant to happen (or I was too expensive, but I thought it was fair).

I did look at ODP's Rental Section, but the issue is that I use Pentax gear, which they unfortunately do not have anything for.

If something does happen, will certainly post it here.

    Well it's done!

I got a bit ahead of the flash at times, so have a few black shots, but just took a quick look at them on my pc, and most of the rest didn't come out too badly. Just need to edit and put the CD together for the client.

I do need to get a decent 2.8 lens though anyway, has universal appeal to me!

    Will post some pics... maybe!
